Tbilisi, Georgia, 1992: The Soviet period is over and Georgia should fight for itself. Common war is boiling over in the region of Abkhazia. For Natia and Eka, the scarcely fourteen-year-old heroes of Grzeli nateli dgeebi, youth is reaching a close. Eka is acting like an adult without her father, defying her concerned mother and her more seasoned sister. Furthermore Natia's father, an irritable alcoholic, terrorises the whole crew. The two companions can't find peace outside of the family either – not in school, not in the city, and not in the bread lines. Bedlam, shakiness, and fear of what's to come may accumulate hold influence ordinary life. An admirer gives Natia a gun with one single shot. A little later, she's stole by an alternate admirer.
